Our perception is fragmented
The idea of putting a number of 74 transparent lenses together has much to do with
the idea of revealing the basic feature of our perception on reality – fragmentation.
Everything we see is passed through a series of judgements and conceptions, which we call “points of view”. These “points” are represented by lenses of different sizes, shapes and
visual properties, which plastically define the concept of multiple perspectives. The
originality of our perception is suggested by the fact that, although the lenses are always in
the same place, each of us chooses to look at them in a unique matter: one’s order and
visual angle of interaction with the lenses will construct an image on the things or people
one’s viewing. This image can be described as an image made of “Perceptions”, a piece of
reality whose fragmented state is revealed.
Percepţia noastră este fragmentată
Ideea de a pune un număr de 74 lentile transparente împreună are mult de-a face cu ideea de a dezvălui caracteristica de bază a percepției noastre asupra realității - fragmentarea. Tot ceea ce vedem este trecut printr-o serie de judecăţi și concepții, pe care le numim „puncte de vedere". Aceste „puncte" sunt aici reprezentate de lentile de diferite dimensiuni, forme și proprietăți vizuale, care definesc plastic conceptul de „pluriperspectivism". Originalitatea percepției noastre este sugerată de faptul că, deşi lentilele sunt mereu în același loc, fiecare dintre noi alege să privească prin ele într-o manieră unică: ordinea și unghiul vizual de interacțiune cu lentilele nu vor fi niciodată la fel la persoane diferite, construind o imagine unică asupra lucrurilor vizualizate. Această imagine poate fi descrisă ca o imagine alcătuită din „Percepții", o bucată de realitate a cărei stare fragmentară este dezvăluită.
