CHARMED like
a woman to whom a thief restores her jewel.
We have been good friends for over a year
now. We met through a friend, which now happens to be his girlfriend. From the
very first words we exchanged, something like an echo developed between us,
close at feel with the one you receive when you shout at a mountain. We are
surely resonating.
His poems are written with conviction,
having a sincere, natural tone and an overall sharp contour. I imagine his
poetry to be like a house full of large windows with no curtains. Every time I
start reading one of his books of poems, I feel like he is in front of me and
we are having an open discussion. The atmosphere I find myself in starts being
filled with the sensation of a fired up engine, from which continuous streams of information stripped
of any typical literary effects are flowing.
The jewel
which has V. Leac as an inspirational inductor, is directly associated with
the way in which he exists and writes. Starting with the idea of a fist ring, I
have designed a four-finger ring, engraved with a clear, powerful, and
especially charming message. The material I used is the wood essence called rosewood, which is dense and hard as
stone, but warm by nature. The word CHARMED
is the result of me asking V. Leac to represent himself in one single word.
The engraving of this word in the upper part of the jewel and afterwards the
insertion of pearl powder inside this engraving, maintains alive the idea of
this man’s sincerity in dealing with absolutely any subject. The font chosen
for the letters composing this word is meant not to inspire fear but, quite the
contrary, to pleasantly draw attention on it.
“V. Leac” is a jewel dedicated mainly to men, but considering the fact that the
term “dedication” has more than one meaning, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a
woman would elegantly wear it.
