Gaudi ring - piece from collection "Imperfect perfection"

I wanted to build myself a house out of a human body.

By handling a flexible line, we will probably obtain organic contours. Simplicity is complex because of the freedom it offers – numerous ways to obtain wavy lines, the curve line being one of the hallmarks of perfectionism. Probably Gaudi liked very much playing with this type of lines.
Remarkable for the way in which he takes over the natural space and occupies it with his own creations, Gaudi is always giving the impression that his works are nothing but slight adaptations of the natural preexistent forms. Since I first had a visual encounter with his art, it has permanently booked a place in my mind and has had a more or less conscious influence over my work.
Focusing his attention on interior design as well, Gaudi once again proves his mastering of the curve line, obtaining perfect shapes also at a small scale. This helped in finding the connection which led to the creation of the wooden and pearls encrusted ring. A hand is usually an indicator of a body communicating: I imagined an elegant lady, walking around in Barcelona and pointing Gaudi’s creations, so many times that her hand starts to borrow the contour line of his works. A ring organically shaped by what she is pointing at, starts growing on her finger. A wonderful duplication of shape is now complete.
